8. Question: What is the correct spacing for the Pavilion trusses: 16” O.C. or 24” O.C.?

Answer: The abbreviation "UON" (as listed in the abbreviations on sheet G102) means "Unless Otherwise Noted." Since sheet S210 notes 16” O.C., that specification should be followed.

Answer: The substitutions are acceptable when the lumber is pressure treated (PT).

15. Question: Which of the two options is required?

Answer: Plans were prepared with pre-engineered exposed roof gang nail trusses and decorative plates in mind.

16. Question: If Exposed Roof Trusses are chosen, is there a design or manufacturer preference?

Answer: There is no design or manufacturer preference; however, pre-engineered truss plans should be prepared by a Truss Engineer. The sealed truss plans must be submitted to the Engineer of Record (E.O.R.) for approval.

17. Question: Is there an approved manufacturer or model?

Answer: E.O.R. recommends Atlantic Aluminum & Marine Products, but an equal can be submitted for approval.

18. Question: What should the aluminum type, thicknesses, and tube diameters be?

Answer: Constructed of marine-grade 6000 series aluminum. Thickness and tube diameters have no specific preference.

19. Question: What should be the step shape (anti-slip, specific width, coating)?

Answer: The steps should be anti-slip 4".

20. Question: Is any anti-corrosion treatment required?

Answer: No additional anti-corrosion treatment is required when aluminum is marine grade. The client may wish to consider powder coating for aesthetic enhancement, and this should be discussed with the client.
