Florida Geological Survey - Warehouse HVAC

TO BIDDERS AND PLAN HOLDERS ON THE ABOVE REFERENCED PROJECT: PLEASE NOTE CONTENTS HEREIN AND INCLUDE, SIGNED, WITH YOUR BID SUBMISSION.

It will be required that this addendum be signed in acknowledgment of receipt and that it be included with your Bid when same is submitted to Logan Lee-Marple, Contracts Specialist, Bureau of Design and Construction, 3800 Commonwealth Blvd., MS #520, Tallahassee, Florida, 32399-3000. Failure to do so may be grounds for rejection of the Bid.

The following statements supersede & supplement the corresponding items in the specifications & drawings:

1. Question: Are we required to seal all existing penetration through fire walls or only new penetrations?

Answer: Yes.  All penetrations in firewalls should be sealed.  If existing penetrations have not been sealed, that needs to be addressed as part of this project.

2. Question: Are we required to upgrade the existing sealant at top of existing fire walls with new fire sealant?

Answer: If gaps exist at the tops of existing fire walls, they need to be repaired.  If they are sealed to the deck above, no additional work is required above existing fire walls.

For both conditions above, the contractor is expected to review the existing conditions prior to submitting their bids.

In all other respects, the contract documents of which this is an Addendum, and attachments relative thereto, shall remain in full force and effect.
