TO BIDDERS AND PLAN HOLDERS ON THE ABOVE REFERENCED PROJECT: PLEASE NOTE CONTENTS HEREIN AND INCLUDE, SIGNED, WITH YOUR BID SUBMISSION.

NOTICE

It will be required that this addendum be signed in acknowledgment of receipt and that it be included with your Bid when same is submitted to Logan Lee-Marple, Contracts Specialist, Bureau of Design and Construction, 3800 Commonwealth Blvd., MS #520, Tallahassee, Florida, 32399-3000. Failure to do so may be grounds for rejection of the Bid.

The following statements supersede & supplement the corresponding items in the specifications & drawings:

1. Question: On the attached Derm Permit it specifies the permit fee due is $28,750, is this required to be included in our proposal or was this paid?

Answer: FDEP has already paid this fee. The contractor is not responsible for DERM fees.

2. Question: The USAC permit was attached. Is there a fee required to be paid by the contractor?

Answer: There is no fee to be paid by contractor for USACE Permit.

3. Question: The SFWMD exemption was attached, just verifying there is no cost associated with this?

Answer: There is no fee required to be paid by contractor for SFWMD permit.

4. Question: We need to include the cost of building permits for Miami Dade county, does Key Biscayne have any jurisdiction on the property we need to be concerned with?

Answer: No, Key Biscayne is not involved with the proposed project footprint. Miami-Dade County has jurisdiction for this project.

5. Question: The contract time is 180 days, The alternate doubles the amount of work required.  Is there additional time going to be added should the Department award the alternate?

Answer: An additional 180 days will be allowed if FDEP elects to award the alternate.

6. Question: The decking and rail boards call for composite solid planks.  There are a lot of different manufacturers and material specifications, is there a specification or manufacturer that the material is to be based upon?

Answer: Composite decking shall meet a maximum deflection criterion of L/360 for 100psf live load with joists spaced at 18” OC max. Material properties for composite railing members shall be a minimum of 1500 PSI bending stress and 65000 PSI modulus of elasticity. For railing install, locate top 2x6 rail snug against bottom of 2x8 rail cap. FDEP shall confirm color choice upon submittal and if decking and railing need to be of the same manufacturer for color consistency. Examples of acceptable products include: WearDeck, Trex.

7. Question: The Lumber is #1 SYP pressure treated, Is there a pressure treatment specification required?

Answer: Pressure treatment is to meet the requirements of AWPA UC5B Standards for Southern Pine.

8. Question: The hardware is specified as Stainless Steel; do we have a grade of stainless required for the project?

Answer: Hardware shall be ASTM A316 Stainless Steel.

In all other respects, the contract documents of which this is an Addendum, and attachments relative thereto, shall remain in full force and effect.
