Scope of Work
The goal of this project is the installation of new sidewalk and replacement of dilapidated sidewalks identified as needing repairs. These sidewalks serve neighborhoods with poor walkability.
The 2025 Sidewalk project also includes the improvement of several driveway sections that intersect the sidewalks within the ROW. Those improvements shall be constructed to the provided standard driveway detail. The standard sidewalk is 4” thick but shall be 6” thick where the sidewalk crosses a driveway apron. On streets lined with concrete curbs, a curb cut will be required for the driveway improvements. On streets without curbs, the specified driveway dimensions still apply, but driveways do not require “tie-ins” or construction of new curb. This project also calls for the placement of thermoplastic pavement striping for crosswalks and for the installation of detectable warning plates for pedestrians. Thermoplastic shall be placed beginning at the edge of asphalt.
-
Note that “Q” Street plan set shall be considered a Bid Alternate in its entirety. All work called for in the plans shall be tracked separately from the Scott and Anderson plans.
Utility coordination is the responsibility of the contractor. Surveys indicate the presence of buried utilities in the project areas.
All the project areas are relatively flat, but erosion and sedimentation control measures should be taken where needed to prevent soil runoff away from the project areas. Additionally, work will be performed near vehicular traffic. Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans are required and shall be furnished by the contractor.
This project has a 90 calendar-day completion goal following Notice to Proceed.
