Acute, Subacute and Long-Term Medical Care for Inmates of Suffolk County Correctional Facilities

Project Description: The Suffolk County Office of Central Procurement, on behalf of the Suffolk County Department of Health Services, invites Proposals from qualified medical facilities (“Contractors”) to provide the following services for its inmates at the Contractor’s location(s):
(1) Acute inpatient hospital care for inmates admitted to the Contractor’s hospital facility.
(2) Subacute care for inmates who do not require acute care but require medically necessary intensive therapies or nursing care. This may include post-surgical care, wound care, orthopedic or cardiac rehabilitation, ventilator management, IV therapy, and rehabilitation for head and spinal cord injuries.
(3) Long-term care for inmates who need assistance with Activities of daily living (ADLs) but do not need intensive nursing care or therapy.
Proposers may propose to provide one or more of these services. The County’s inmates are housed in Correctional Facilities located in Riverhead, NY and Yaphank, NY.
