Advanced Contract Award Notice / Notice of Proposed Procurement

The University of Alberta is providing Advanced Contract Award notice to acquire a ACQUITY UPLC M-Class System from Waters Limited. The Department is replacing existing Waters ACQUITY UPLC “Classic” liquid chromatography system with ACQUITY UPLC M-Class System. The discontinued Waters Acquity UPLC “Classic” liquid chromatography system, which is over 15 years old, no longer supported, and cannot be repaired. The M-Class is the only system fully compatible with existing SCIEX QTRAP 6500+ mass spectrometer and SCIEX Analyst software, ensuring automated control and complete data and method continuity. No additional training required as already trained on Waters UPLC system. The M-Class also offers advanced nanoflow and microflow capabilities (0.2–100 µL/min), which will significantly enhance sensitivity for proteomics and small molecule analyses. No other system, including the technically comparable Thermo Vanquish Neo, provides the required integration with our current software and hardware. Furthermore, SCIEX recommends the M-Class as the standard liquid chromatography system for its mass spectrometers, including the QTRAP 6500+.
