The goal of AC-SOGR and Traction Power SOGR programs is to maintain a State of Good Repair (SOGR) and continuously improve and maintain existing power systems to deliver a safe and reliable metro rail system. The AC and Traction Power rooms and associated power equipment are aging. To maintain a high level of readiness and safety, obsolete and/or worn-out equipment need to be installed/replaced on its lifecycles varying from 18 to 40 years. The SOGR equipment includes, but is not limited to switchgear, panel boards, transformers, cables, motor control centers, battery banks, lighting, generators, Uninterrupted Power Systems (UPS), Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and associated conduit and connection equipment. This initiative will require the means for heavy rigging, hauling, relocation, installation, removal, and disposal of multiple types of electrical equipment to and from various Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) facilities
