Added: Oct 11, 2017 8:47 amPre-Solicitation Notice -- Restroom Building Theater Conversion Jewel Cave. The National Park Service, MWR NEKOTA Major Acquisition Buying Office (MABO) intends to issue an Invitation for Bids for converting a comfort station/restroom building located near the Jewel Cave visitor center into a theater. The project will also include an optional bid item for the construction of a nearby vending shelter.
The contractor will perform limited demolition work to include removal of existing interior fixtures and upgrades to convert the decommissioned comfort station into new theater space that will include interior walls, flooring, ceilings, lighting, electrical distribution, and HVAC system. The vending shelter will require a foundation, walls, lighting, and electrical connections. The nearby visitor center will remain open during this project.
This project is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business using NAICS Code 236220 with a size standard of $36.5 Million. Responses to a Sources Sought Announcement P17PS02094 were considered for this set-aside decision.
The magnitude of this project is between $100,000 and $250,000. The National Park Service, Midwest Region (MWR), NEKOTA MABO, intends to award a firm-fixed price, construction contract in response to this solicitation. The government intends to issue Solicitation Number 140P6318B00001 and its attachments, on or about October 26, 2017. A formal solicitation will follow.
The responses will be due approximately 30 days after the solicitation issue date. A Pre-bid site visit will be scheduled and announced with the solicitation. The anticipated period of performance will be approximately 60 days with work beginning in March of 2018. The final performance period may be slightly adjusted dependent on the final award process and dates. The solicitation will be available on the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website at https://www.fbo.gov. The solicitation package, including applicable drawings, plans, etc., will be posted to FedConnect at https://www.fedconnect.net. No hardcopies or email copies will be provided. Offerors must have a DUNS number, be registered and active in the System for Award Management (SAM) http://www.sam.gov in order to be eligible for award.
