Description
The Central Iowa Health Care System requires the purchase of six wireless handheld ultrasound scanners with the salient characteristics listed below.
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE only looking for businesses to provide supplies listed below for market research purposes. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this notice. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS OR PRICING AND NO CONTRACT SHALL BE AWARDED FROM THIS NOTICE. This notice shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Responses to this notice will be treated only as information for the Government to consider as part of their market research efforts. The information provided will be used by the Government in developing its acquisition strategy regarding possible set aside for Veteran Owned and other socio-economic categories of small business. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary, restricted or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The Government does not intend to pay for the information submitted in response to this notice and parties responding will not be entitled to payment for direct or indirect costs incurred in responding to this notice.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334510, Electromedical and Electrotherapeutic Apparatus Manufacturing, with an SBA Small Business Size Standard of 1,250 employees.

Salient Characteristics of Wireless Handheld Ultrasound Scanners:
Description: VA-CIHCS has an immediate requirement for: six (6) Wireless Handheld Ultrasound Systems. We require a dual headed probe that has sector transducer on one end and a linear array transducer on the other. We require that the device have at least 13 optimized presets for full body scanning to include guidance, visualization, and measurement of anatomical features and fluid. The device must also have a Pulsed wave spectral Doppler (displays speed and direction of blood flow allowing velocity measurements), and Motion mode (displays tissue motion over time). The device must be able to be utilized with information sharing during basic/focused assessments during routine, periodic follow-up, and triage assessments for adult patients.
The Buy American Act, FAR 52.225-1, applies. Interested vendors shall include the place of manufacture in their responses.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Enabled
Single Device with Dual Probe with sector transducer and linear array transducer
Minimum 13 optimized presets for scanning
Vascular- veins, arteries
Nerves- peripheral nerves
Small parts- small organs, soft tissue
MSK (musculoskeletal superficial)- joints, long bones, muscles, tendons, ligaments
Lung- Thoracic/Pleural motion
Neo Head- Neonatal cephalic
Opthalmic
Pulsed wave spectral Doppler displays speed and direction of blood flow allowing velocity measurements
Motion mode displays tissue motion over time
