AWARD:
It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule
.
Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity.
The
Awarded contractor must be an Iowa licensed, bonded and insured contractor
Overview:
Removal and replacement of existing concrete weigh scale bridge deck, steel support structure and load cells and load cell technology at the West Point location as per the attached specifications and plans. Work includes modifications to concrete load cell support piers as required by bridge deck/load cell manufacturer. Engineer sealed structural drawings are required to be provided by the contractor. Modifications to the concrete pier footings as dictated by the steel structure will be engineered by the DOT. Any modifications to the pier footings must be supplied and installed by the Contractor.
Contractor will be responsible for all traffic control.
Project Location: 1300 Hwy 218 North Bound, West Point, IA 52656
Contractor must train IDOT staff on operation of scale.

Davis- Bacon Wages do not apply to this project.
This is a tax exempt project.

Contractors must contact Teri Schulz at teri.schulz@iowadot.us and include the date & time of you wish to visit the site. Site visit dates are April 12-22, 2024 Monday-Friday, by appointment only, contractors are to provider 24 hour advance notice before their requested date.
