QUESTION:
1. Please provide us specifications for the Interior Coating (if required) for new concrete tank. Section
09900 Painting does not specify the type of special coating for the interior of the tank.
ANSWER:
No interior coating required.
QUESTION:
2. Section 13958 Para 2.8 there are two paragraphs with the same exact heading "Valves" which
provides different specifications. Please clarify or make corrections.
ANSWER:
Provide valves with specifications that comply with NFPA 13, Standard for the installation of
Sprinkler System. Please disregard fire service valve with specification for NFPA 24 requirements.

QUESTION:
3. On the concrete water tank, per Drawing C2.3,
Will vertical construction joints with water stop for the 10" thick concrete walls of the concrete
water tank be allowable?
ANSWER:
Water stops on vertical joints will be allowed dependent upon location and will subject to review
and approval during SD submittals.
QUESTION:
Will the 6" thick roof slab of the concrete water tank be allowed to be built with combination of
precast concrete planks with concrete topping? This will allow the concrete roof topping to be
constructed without trapping any plywood forms and wood frames inside and under the roof of
the tank.
ANSWER:
Can be submitted as a VE subject to review and approval by GPA.
QUESTION:
Will an alternative to provide design-build cylindrical post-tensioned concrete water tank of
the same water volume by ON Tank in lieu of the rectangular-box shaped concrete water
tank per plan be acceptable?
ANSWER:
Can be submitted as a VE subject to review and approval by GPA.
QUESTION:
4. On the FM-200 fire extinguishing system, the heat detector system, Drawing 1/FP1.2, the signal
wire raceways from the heat detector zone boxes is shown to run to the fire alarm control panel.
located at the Foam Pump Room. From the operation and maintenance perspective of GPA, are
the raceway conduits required to be embedded under the slab between the zone boxes and the
tank berm wall? Or the can the rigid conduits be just exposed on the concrete floor mounted on
unistruts similar to conduit mounting on the berm walls. Are the raceway conduits, fittings and
boxes required to be explosion roof within the tank farm?
ANSWER:
Linear Heat Detector from Zone Boxes to FACP shall be in a conduit exposed on the concrete
floor, secured with a clamp on strut channel. Provide watertight /oil tight fitting and boxes. Please
consult Manufacturer’s Published Data for other accessories requirements.

QUESTION:
5. On Drawing C3.1, there is a Detail7 for New Outlet at Existing Steel Raw Water Tank with
"pressure sensing line to altitude valve" and 7A Elevation of welded tank plate at pipe connection.
We don't see any existing steel raw water tank on the Civil Site plan C.20 or Mechanical Drawings.
Is this detail just to depict the desired connection detail to the new concrete water tank. Please
clarify scope of work.
ANSWER:
Not required. Detail 7/C3.1 to be deleted.
QUESTION:
6. On Drawing C3.0, there are Detail drawings 1, 1A, 1B and 1C pertaining to Water Meter Detail with
Gate valves and the Specification Section 02713 includes Water Meter, but the site plan C2.0 calls
the "Existing water meter and vault to remain. GPA will be responsible for replacement of water
meter by GWA. Please confirm whether or not a new water meter and new meter box are required
on this project.
ANSWER:
Not required. Detail 1/C3.0 to be deleted.
QUESTION:
7. On Drawing C2.0, Site Plan, the underground fire waterline from the fire pump to the foam pump is
called out as 2.5" diameter. On Drawing FP1.2, Enlarged Plan 3, the fire water line at the foam
building is called out as 2.5" diameter. However, on Drawing FP1.4, Foam System Schematic
Drawing 1, the firewater line is called out as 4" diameter. Please clarify which pipe size should be
used in the bid.
ANSWER:
The 4” diameter pipe on Drawing FP1.4 should be 2.5” Fire Water Line. Please use 2.5” Fire Line..
All other Terms and Conditions in the bid package shall remain unchanged and in full force.
