Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) - Backup Power System

The purpose of this specification is for the purchase, installation, preventative maintenance (PM) service of one (1) uninterruptible power supply (UPS) at White Rock Pump Station. The term for this service agreement will be thirty-six (36) month. The City of Dallas is seeking companies whose combination of experience and personnel will provide professional services as required to fulfill all aspects of these specifications timely and in their entirety. Vendor shall also be responsible for removal of the existing uninterruptible power supply (UPS), battery cabinet, and batteries. All items shall be properly de-installed, delivered and unloaded at the City Store. The preventative maintenance is requested to be biannual for three years with an option to be renewed.

The Water Delivery Pumping Operations Division provides potable water to the City of Dallas and surrounding Customer Cities and must meet Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulatory water quality requirements. The White Rock Control Center is a 24/7 critical infrastructure facility that controls and monitors all pumps, reservoir levels, elevated tank levels, rate-of-flow metering facilities and pressure points in the water distribution system.

A 75-kilovolt ampere (KVA) uninterruptible power supply (UPS) provides backup power through an automatic transfer switch in the event of a power outage. Severe storms have caused periodic power outages resulting in failover to the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system. The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) backup power system was installed about 2004 and now needs to be replaced to maintain reliable backup power capability for the water distribution system.
