Please provide a quote for the following: Pool Resurfacing-Stuarts Draft Pool-Augusta
The County of Augusta is seeking a Class A contractor to perform the following work at the
Stuarts Draft pool located at 96 Edgewood Ln. Stuarts Draft, VA 24477.
a. Inspection of the main and wading pool, skimmers, main drain plumbing, and circulation
systems, pressure testing all plumbing to confirm proper operation. Any deficiencies
shall be reported to the owner/agent.
b. Saw cuts are to be made around any built-ins that will remain in place and chipped back
to allow the new finish a flush fit in both the main and wading pools.
c. The existing racing lane and target tiles are to be removed from the main pool.
d. Provide and install Galaxy Blue 2”x2” tile to recreate the 6 racing lanes of 12’ wide, this
will include the 12 target tiles to match the existing format.
e. The existing water line tiles are to be removed in the main and wading pools.
f. Provide and install Classic Pool Tile Colbalt Blue 6”x6” tile are to be used for the
replacement tiles in the main and wading pools water lines. Depth markings and rope
anchors will also need to be replaced in the tile line
g. The existing bull nose tile on the stair entry will need to be removed. Provide and install
Daltile Galaxy blue 2”x2” bullnose tile on the front edge of the steps.
h. The existing surface is to be water jetted to remove any loose remaining plaster.
i. Please include a minimum of 100 square of hollow and loose plaster repairs as well as a
price per square foot make additional repairs exceeding the 100 square foot allowance.
j. Please include a minimum of 10 linear feet of crack repair that may need to be cut out
and sealed, as well as a linear foot cost estimate on repairs need exceeding the 10 linear

k. Provide and install Multicoat Product Systems Scratch Kote 2000 per manufactures
installation instructions, or equivalent, to assure new finish will bond to the existing
l. Remove the existing caulking behind the existing coping in both the main and wading
pools. Provide and install new approved caulking, and backer rod if needed behind
m. New main drain covers to be installed on the existing 12”x12” main drains using 4 (2)
12”x16” Hayward 12”x12” main drain frames and covers on the main pool and (2)
Hayward 8” main drain frames and covers on the wading pool, meeting VGB pool and
spa safety act requirements.
n. White plaster is to be installed on the entire interior of the main and wading pools to be
comprised of Lehigh White Cement and Imerys Pool Mix.
o. Supply all start up chemicals including Calcium Chloride, Soduim Bicarbnate, and
Muriatic Acid for initial water balance. Also supply Jacks Magic Magenta Stuff for
initial treatment of pool water to prevent staining of new plaster.
• In order to provide an accurate quote, interested qualified companies will be required to set up
an appointment with the Facilities Director Rusty Sprouse, between the dates of August, 3 2020

• Owner will supply water to refill pool.
• A bid bond of 5% will be required for this project.
• All work is to be done following OSHA safety guidelines.
• A minimum of a 12 month warranty shall be included on all work.
• Work needs to be scheduled during the fall of 2020 and the spring of 2021. Plaster to be
completed between March, 15 and April, 15 2021.
• 120v power supply will be provided by owner.
• A building permit for this project will be required to be obtained by the contractor awarded the
project. Please note that no building permit fees are required on County owned property. The
contractor is required to schedule all applicable inspections as required by local, state and /or
federal codes and regulations.
• The Contractor will need to provide toilet facilities.
• Remove and clean up any debris related to the project daily. Dispose of all debris
appropriately. All construction, including equipment and accessories, shall be secured against
