ADDENDUM #1
Questions and answers from RFQ PreSubmittal Meeting held June 19, 2019
1. What is the reason for (2) public work packages?
The building is occupied and will require sequencing to support operations. The two packages will be
designed together.
2. Are intermediate repairs anticipated for the freight elevator?
On an as needed basis, repairs may be required, there is an active elevator maintenance contract for
the equipment.
3. What is the level of seismic upgrades have been completed?
The building structure is original and no building structure seismic upgrades have been completed to
date. “City of Seattle Predisaster Mitigation Planning and Seismic Risk Assessment”, reported dated
September 20, 2013 has been completed and is available and is attached.
4. Is Kone proprietary to the project?
No, comparable elevator manufacturers are acceptable.
5. Is there ADA access/compliance for the freight elevator during phase 1?
The freight elevator will be used as part of a temporary accessible path during the replacement of the
passenger elevator. The elevator is sufficiently sized. The operation of the freight elevator will not be
independent and will require a building staff to operate via a phone request.
6. Is the building designated historic?
Yes, the building is a contributing structure in the Pioneer Square Historic District.
7. Are resumes counted as part of the page count in the submittal.
Resumes are counted, but the mandatory forms will not be counted in the page count submittal.

8. What are the intended Master Planning services for the project?
Master planning services will be limited. We value the input of our design team of sequencing and
review of project scope.
9. Is the City open to having the project led by another discipline other than architectural for the prime?
Yes, we are evaluating qualifications based on expertise and for the skills set of a prime consultant to
manage the project and subconsultant team.
10. Will there be overlap in the schedule during construction?
This will be determined during design.
11. Is the project funded?
Yes the project is fully funded.
