THE CITY OF GREEN RIVER is accepting bids for the removal of all metals that are located at our Municipal Landfill and to provide a container to have all metals collected for the next year. Metals to be removed from the current metal pile could consist of car bodies and parts, white goods, scrap iron, propane tanks, metal drums, etc. Metals to be placed in the container for future collection are items that can be lifted by a person and non-mechanical means. Items could be white goods, scrap iron, propane tanks, metal drums, misc. metal household items.

Bidders are responsible for examining items prior to bidding and should contact Mark Pond at 307-872-0531 to schedule an appointment.

All items are being sold in “as is” condition without any warranties, expressed or implied.

Sealed bids must be received at City of Green River Finance Division, 50 East 2nd North, Green River, Wyoming 82935, no later than 10:00 a.m. July 27, 2016 at which time bids will be opened. Award will be approved by the Governing Body at the next regularly scheduled city council meeting.

Sale & Removal of Metal from City of Green River Landfill

THE CITY OF GREEN RIVER is soliciting bids for the removal of all metals that are located at our Municipal Landfill and to provide a container to have all metals collected for the next year.

Metals to be removed from the current metal pile consist of car bodies and parts, white goods, scrap iron, propane tanks, metal drums, etc.

Bidders are responsible for examining items prior to bidding and should contact Mark Pond at 307-872-0531 to schedule an appointment.

Contractor shall weigh at the Municipal Landfill to determine tonnage being removed. These weigh tickets will be used by the City to bill contractor after removal. The contractor may also utilize a certified scale within a 30 mile radius as well since the City’s scales are not certified by the State of Wyoming.

Contractor shall provide, for a period of one year, a container with at least 25 yd. capacity to be used for scrap metal disposal.

  • This container shall be picked up by contractor on an as needed basis per request fromMark Pond, Solid Waste Supervisor.
  • Contractor shall weigh at the Municipal Landfill to determine tonnage of scrap metalremoved. These weigh tickets will be used by the City to bill contractor after removal.

The contractor may also utilize a certified scale within a 30 mile radius as well since the City’s scales are not certified by the State of Wyoming.

  • Metals to be placed in the container for future collection are items that can be lifted by a person and non-mechanical means. Items could be white goods, scrap iron, propane tanks, metal drums, misc. metal household items.
  • Bidders have two options on price proposal for this:
    • Bid a flat amount and that amount will be effective for the term of the agreement.
    • o Bid a market value less expenses. If this option is chosen then the bidder must provide a separate sheet stating the market used for the market value and disclose the cost to come to price per ton. The formula is Market Value -Costs = Price per ton.In this case the market value pricing will be adjusted each time the container is picked up.

Contractor shall supply Owner with proof of liability insurance in the amount of $1,000,000.00 each occurrence and $1,000,000 aggregate for bodily injury, (naming the City as an additional insured). Personal Injury for $2,000,000 aggregate coverage, Comprehensive Automobile Liability for $1,000,000 each person, $1,000,000 each occurrence and $1,000,000 for property damage. Contractor must also provide copy of Worker’s Compensation as required by Wyoming State Statutes.

The Mayor and Council hereby reserve the right to reject or accept any and all bids based upon their being the sole determinant in taking this action to accept or reject.
