RECEIPT OF BIDS: Separate sealed BIDS or Electronic Submittal using Sciquest for the construction of 2019 Roadway Project will be received by Sam Kelly, City Engineer at the City of Orem, Engineering Division, 56 North State, Orem, UT 84057, or opened electronically on Sciquest until April 16, 2019 at 11 am and then at said office publicly opened and read aloud. The preferred method for submitting a bid is by using Sciquest at purchasing.utah.gov (Select the search bar > select Current Bids > enter “Orem” > search).
BIDDING QUESTIONS – Use Sciquest to submit questions and download documents relating to bid items, specifications, and other technical questions. The project engineer is Zack Fisher at (801) 229-7331. A mandatory pre-proposal meeting will be held on March 21, 2019 at 11 am in the City Center City Council Conference Room.
OBTAINING CONTRACT DOCUMENTS: The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained March 14, 2019 on Sciquest under 2019 Roadway Project or at the City of Orem, Engineering Division, Development Services Offices, 56 North State Street, Orem, UT 84057. There is no fee from the City to obtain the documents on Sciquest. There will be a $20 non-refundable fee for a copy of the plans and specifications. (An additional $5.00 service charge will be assessed if the plans and specifications are to be mailed).
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The WORK includes 35,555 SY of 2” asphalt overlay PG 64-34 with superpave additives, 7,675 SY of 2” asphalt overlay PG 58-28 with superpave additives, 20,965 SY of road reconstruction (6” PG 64-34 and 8” untreated base course), 6,840 SY of road reconstruction (5” PG 64-34 and 8” untreated base course), 7,135 SY of road reconstruction (4” PG 58-28 and 8” untreated base course), and 17,745 SY of road reconstruction (4” PG 58-28 and 8” crushed concrete base course. The engineer’s estimate is for the work $2,800,000 to $3,300,000.
