RFP: Professional Services to Update the FoxWalk Overlay District Design Guidelines

Consultant will review current FoxWalk Overlay District Design Guidelines and recommend changes to clarify ambiguous language, to expand areas to include more specific guidance, to update public work improvements to coordinate with existing efforts, and to incorporate recent developments in best practices of preservation, building technology, and planning law. Consultant will work with City Zoning and Planning staff and City’s Legal Department to ensure the Guidelines adhere to current case law, particularly for signage. Consultant will work with City Zoning and Planning staff, the FoxWalk Design Review Committee, and some City identified key players to illicit feedback on what changes should be considered. The outcome should be a final updated document that is Aurora specific and not a collection of generic guidelines adapted from other cities. Where necessary, additional graphics (illustrations, sketches, graphs, tables, flow charts) shall be used to better illustrate the issues within the document.
