RFP #01-065 - Design-Assist Construction Contract with Guaranteed Maximum Price for Traffic Signal Maintenance Shop Tenant Improvements

The Traffic Signal Maintenance Section of Public Works/Engineering (Section) is responsible for the maintenance and operation of over 200 traffic signals and numerous Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices. A study in 2016 concluded that, based on the rate of development at that time, additional staffing will be needed in the Section to continue to meet traffic signal maintenance and operation needs as the City grows. Since that time, development has continued at a rate that meets or exceeds what was anticipated. The existing Traffic Signal Maintenance Shop is located at 2025 Hilltop Circle in the Corporation Yard in a small 1,200 SF area next to the Street Maintenance Division. A Space Needs Study in 2021 concluded that 3000 SF is needed for the expected growth of the Section over the next several years.
