Description:
The City of Lebanon, New Hampshire (OWNER) will receive sealed bids at the Office of Public Works, 193 Dartmouth College Highway until 2:00 pm (local time) on Thursday August 27, 2020 at which time the bids will be opened and read aloud. The envelopes containing the bids must be sealed, and designated as BID FOR MAPLE STREET PARKING LOT.

The proposed work will consist of excavation, gravel installation, compaction, grading, paving, shoulder backup and line marking on a Recreation Parking lot located on Maple Street in West Lebanon, NH. Work will include shim and final overlays (NHDOT Section 401; 3/4 Inch Binder and – 3/8 Inch Wearing Course.

Summer 2020
1. Receipt of Bids The City of Lebanon, New Hampshire (OWNER) will receive sealed
bids at the Office of Public Works, 193 Dartmouth College Highway until 2:00 pm
(local time) on Thursday August 27, 2020 at which time the bids will be opened and
read aloud. The envelopes containing the bids must be sealed, and designated as BID
FOR MAPLE STREET PARKING LOT. The bid opening shall be public and open to
all parties.
2. Project Summary The proposed work will consist of excavation, gravel installation,
compaction, grading, paving, shoulder backup and line marking on a Recreation Parking
lot located on Maple Street in West Lebanon, NH. Work will include shim and final
overlays (NHDOT Section 401; 3/4 Inch Binder and 3/8 Inch Wearing Course.
3. Specifications Bid /contract documents may be obtained at the Office of Public Works by
calling (603) 448-3112 extension #1507. All questions concerning the specifications and
bid / contract documents shall be directed to Everett Hammond, P.E., Assistant Director
of Public Works. All work shall be in conformance with NHDOT standard
specifications.
4. Construction Schedule It is anticipated that a Contract Award will be made by during the
first week of September 2020. The anticipated Notice to Proceed is also the first week of
September, 2020. The Bidder shall commence work under this contract on or before a
date to be specified in the NOTICE TO PROCEED and to fully complete all project
segments within Ninety (45) consecutive calendar days after Notice To Proceed. The
Contractor shall submit at the Preconstruction Meeting a detailed schedule of
construction activities.
Award of Contract The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids and to waive any
irregularity in Bidding. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the necessary
Bonds and Insurance Certificates. The City will award this project based on the City’s
discretion, and may or may not include any or all bid alternatives.
5. Performance Bond The successful Bidder shall execute a Performance Bond in the
amount of one-hundred percent (100%) of the Bid Price within 5 days of the NOTICE of
AWARD. Bond shall be executed by the Bidder, Owner and a Surety Company.
6. Payment Bond The successful bidder shall provide a Payment Bond in the amount of
one-hundred percent (100%) of the Bid Price, executed between the Bidder, Owner and a
Surety Company within 5 days of the NOTICE of AWARD.
7. Bid Bond All bids must be submitted with a Bid Bond in the amount of ten percent
(10%) of the Bid Price executed between the Bidder and a Surety Company.

below. The Owner reserves the right to change project scopes prior to the issuance of Purchase Orders against this Contract. It is the

1. CONTRACT DOCUMENTS AND DEFINITIONS

General Conditions. Bidders must examine each of the Contract
Documents, visit the location of the work, and inform themselves of the
difficulties attending the execution of the work prior to the submission of
their Proposals. The successful Contractor shall give attention to the
definitions included in the Contract Documents.
2. PRINTED FORM OF PROPOSAL
All Bids must be made upon the attached form of “Bid Proposal” and should
give a unit price in figures and a total price for each item; and must be
signed and acknowledged by the Bidder, in accordance with the directions in
the Proposal.
