Space Planning at Beaverton City Library – Book Corner Integration Project
The Beaverton City Library, a department of the City of Beaverton, Oregon is accepting proposals from
qualified architecture and design firms with experience, knowledge and expertise in library space planning
to review the New Friends of the Beaverton City Library (NFBCL) “Book Corner” book store and the
Beaverton City Library (BCL) Circulation Division and Technical Services Division work areas with a goal of
a) incorporating the Book Corner retail operation into the area currently occupied by the Circulation
Division staff; b) reconfiguring the Circulation Division and Technical Services Division work and staff areas
to accommodate the operation of both of those divisions. The resulting recommendations must keep
within a reasonable design and ambiance of the architecture of the Library.
A mandatory pre-proposal meeting will be held at 9:00 AM on October 3, 2019 at the Beaverton City
Library, located at 12375 SW Fifth St., Beaverton, OR 97005. Please ring the bell to the right of the
loading dock door, on the East side of the building.
Submit proposal by email no later than 2:00 PM on October 23, 2019 to Terry Muralt, Purchasing
Agent at tmuralt@BeavertonOregon.gov. Closing time is determined by when the email is received,
not sent. Proposals received after the designated time will not be considered. There will be no

Proposers are required to certify non-discrimination in employment practices in accordance with ORS
279A.110(4), and identify resident status as defined in ORS 279A.120(1). Pre-qualification of Proposer is
not required. All Proposers are required to comply with the provisions of Oregon Revised Statutes and
Beaverton’s Contract Review Board Policy.
The City of Beaverton reserves the right (1) to reject any or all proposal not in compliance with public
bidding procedures, 2) to postpone award of the contract for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days from
date of proposal opening, (3) to waive informalities in the proposals, and (4) to select the proposal which
appears to be in the best interest of the City.
