Vendors will meet at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday,
December 4, 2019 at North Carolina State University
Reedy Creek Farm, 5100 Reedy Creek Rd, Raleigh,
NC 27607.
This will be the ONLY opportunity provided to prospective
vendors to view the worksite, and ask questions of the staff
responsible for oversight of this work. Please arrive early. A
sign-in sheet will be provided.
Attendance at this meeting is mandatory. Quotes
received from vendors who arrive after 11:00 a.m., who
do not attend, or who are not present for the entire pre-
bid meeting, will be rejected.
NOTE: Questions may be submitted in writing to
dmpantel@ncsu.edu prior to the pre-bid meeting. Questions
will be answered via addendum after the meeting. No vendor
contact with the using department is allowed during the bid
process except at the pre-bid meeting. Unauthorized contact

Purpose:
NCSU Reedy Creek Farm would like to contract the removal of old fence material and installation of new
agricultural horse fencing at Reedy Creek Farm located at 5100 Reedy Creek Road, Raleigh, NC, 27606.
This request for quotation provides instructions for parties interested in supplying the requirements of this bid.
This document contains specifications for the services, materials to be supplied, and terms and conditions
thereof. The awarded contractor must remain professional in their attire and demeanor and limit their
interactions with students and clientele at the farm. Interactions and inquiries should only be made with the
facility manager or director. Reedy Creek Farm is a smoke and tobacco free facility. No smoking of any kind is
allowed on the property.
Scope of Project:
The scope of this project is to provide labor, materials, disposal, machinery, and expertise to install agricultural
horse fencing according to the detailed plans provided within this bid. The work covered by this bid includes
the following:
Site preparation:
1. Brush and tree clearing/removal to allow removal of old fence line(s) and installation of new fence line.
Brush and tree clearing must be a minimum of 8’ distance from the newly installed fence line.

3. Removal and proper disposal of old fence line(s) and all material including wire, wooden posts, T posts,

1. Final fence project must appear neat with consistent workmanship throughout. Yes No
2. Approximately 2,900-3,300 of total linear feet to be installed to replace existing fence line.

3. Install horse fence using white polymer electric coated class-3 12.5 gauge wire such as Ramm’s
Shockline Flex Fence, Gallagher EquiFence, or approved equal. Yes No
4. Insulators must be white universal pin lock type, and ensure no loss of energy across fence such as
Ramm’s Universal Pin-Lock Insulators, Gallagher’s Heavy Duty Wood Post Wide Jaw Pinlock Insulator,

6. Hotwire connections must be buried underground between gate sections and between different pasture
sections using double insulated underground cable specific for fencing placed a minimum of 10”

from the project or site storage area. The Contractor shall properly dispose of all trash and debris away
from the job site. All trash and debris shall be removed from campus and may not be placed in any
