Description:

The City of Bristol is seeking bids for railroad spur renovations, including realignment of curve at crossing, replacement of rail ties, rail tie plates, spikes and traffic pads along western spur of railroad line in Bristol CT. Electronic Bid documents may be obtained for a $30.00 download fee payable to QuestCDN accessible via the QuestCDN website.

Bids will be accepted until November 14, 2022 at 1:00 pm, via the online electronic bidding system through QuestCDN.com . Bids submitted after the opening date and time will not be considered for award. Bids must be accompanied by a 10% Bid Bond payable to the City of Bristol as issued by a surety licensed to do business in the State of CT.

Please note that the City of Bristol has issued an addendum, clarifying specifications and extending the bid due date until Nov 14, 2022 at 1:00 pm.

A non-mandatory bidder’s conference will be held on October 25, 2022 at 2:00 pm in Meeting Room 1 of the City Hall West facility, located on the second floor at 131 North Main Street, Bristol CT.

Prospective bidders shall examine the “Instruction to Bidders” and “Supplementary Instructions to Bidders” and shall comply and conform strictly with the conditions and instructions contained therein.

The awarded contractor will be required to secure a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract award, provided by a surety licensed to do business in the State of Connecticut. The requirements for prevailing wage rates are to apply to the resultant contract award.

The City reserves the right to waive any informalities in the bid, to reject any or all bids, and to accept the bid that in its judgment is in its best interest. Bids must be firm and may not be withdrawn for a period of 90 days following the bid opening.

The Contractor will take affirmative action to ensure that applicants are employed, and that employees are treated during employment without regard to their race, color, religion, gender, or national origin.
