NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

OFFICE OF CITY CLERK

HAYS, KANSAS

August 15th, 2024

Sealed bids, subject to the conditions contained herein, will be received by the City of Hays, Kansas, at 1507

Main Street at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, until 3:00 PM, September 24th, 2024 for the construction

of The Grove Development, COH Project No. 2021-22. This project consists of mass grading for approximately

20.5 acres, 2,767 linear feet of residential street construction, adjacent sidewalks, along with underground storm sewer.

Also included is 2,747 feet of new 8” waterline within the subdivision as well as 559 feet of new 12” waterline along

27th Street, and installation of 3,442 linear feet of 8” sewer line with 12 sanitary sewer manholes.

At said time and place, and promptly thereafter, all Proposals that have been duly received will be publicly

opened and read aloud.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a cashier's check, a certified check or a bid bond, payable to the City of Hays,

Kansas, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid.

The bidder to whom a contract is awarded in excess of $100,000.00 will be required to furnish a Contract Bond

and Payment Bond executed on the specific forms and acceptable to the City of Hays, Kansas, each in the amount

of one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount Bid.

Contract Documents are on file and may be examined at the Public Works Department, 1002 Vine Street, Hays,

KS 67601 (PH# 785-628-7310).

Contract Documents may be obtained by emailing Kord Albers, IE with the Driggs Design Group, PA at

kalbers@driggsdesign.com for a deposit of $175.00 (One Hundred Seventy Five Dollars) made payable to the

Driggs Design Group, PA. There will be no refund of the deposit. The contract documents become the property

of the prospective bidder and are not returnable. Digital copy can be obtained for no cost.

City of Hays reserves the right to reject or accept any and all bids/proposals, to waive any irregularities in such

bids/proposals, and to accept such bids/proposals that are the most responsive and best suits the City of Hays.

No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of 60 (sixty) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the written

consent of the City of Hays, Kansas.
