Project Description:

The San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) is the world's largest, most prestigious scientific breast cancer meeting, attracting over 7,000 attendees plus exhibitors and media. Often as many as several dozen international media organizations cover the symposium from the onsite press room. Approximately 50% or more of attendees come from outside the USA, from as many as 100 countries. The program runs for four and a half days and includes several types of sessions: Educational, General, Special, Poster, and Spotlight Sessions, Plenary Lectures, Mini-symposia, Forums, Case Studies, Year In Review, Debate, and Workshops. General sessions, poster sessions and spotlight sessions are derived from peer-reviewed abstracts. The other sessions feature invited speakers. The meeting is unique among medical meetings of its size in that it is a medical education meeting (certified for CME) rather than a membership-based association. SABCS is wholly owned and operated by UT Health San Antonio but also involves participation by two institutional co-sponsors: Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) and American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). See www.sabcs.org for complete history and information. Collaboration with other SABCS vendors who deal with program content is vital.

The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (University) is soliciting proposals from qualified vendors to provide a mobile application (“app”) that is specifically designed for large scientific and medical meetings with comprehensive schedules containing thousands of posters, searchable scientific abstracts, and a multitude of disciplines within the program. The Scope of Work is more specifically described in Section 5 of this Request for Proposal.
