INVITATION TO SUBMIT BIDS
TO THE STATE OF VERMONT MILITARY DEPARTMENT FOR THE
NEWPORT COLD STORAGE BUILDING
The State of VT Military Department is soliciting bids to construct a Cold Storage Building at the Newport Armory in
Newport, VT. Sealed bids will be received by the State of Vermont Military Department, Building #5, Camp Johnson,
789 National Guard Road, Colchester, VT 05446-3099, no later than 9:00 AM, Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at which
time they will be opened. Bids requiring bid bonds must submit scanned bid bond with bid proposal. Contractor awarded
the project is required to submit the original bid bond to the Project Manager as soon as they have been notified of the
awarded project. If you choose to use the email method of delivery, Email the bid form contained herein and the required
completed forms to firstname.lastname@example.org and copy the project manager. Include the project name and name of
bidder on the subject line. REQUEST A DELIVERY RECEIPT FOR YOUR EMAIL WHEN YOU SEND IT. It is the
contractor’s responsibility to ensure their bid arrives before the deadline to be considered.

fee for each set of documents.

1. This project will consist of, but not be limited to, labor and material for the following scope of work:
a. Site preparation including buried electrical conduit.
b. Foundation construction
c. Pre-engineered-building construction and enclosure
d. Electrical work including lighting
at the Newport Armory as indicated on the drawings and specifications dated August 2015 by Civil Engineer Associates,
2. The project will be at the Newport Armory in Newport, Vermont
3. A Vermont Department of Public Safety criminal background check is required for the job
superintendent and all crew leaders if not presently on file with the CFMO and current within one year.
A written copy must be given to the project manager prior to work starting. They can be obtained at
contractor’s expense at http://vcic.vermont.gov/ch-information/record-checks
4. There will be a mandatory walk-through meeting at the site on Wednesday, September 12th, 2018 at 1:30 pm.
5. Last day questions may be submitted is Tuesday, September 18th at 11:00 AM. Questions should be submitted by
email to the project manager at the address below.
6. Directions to the site: From I-91 take exit 27 and turn Northwest on VT-191 towards Newport for 2.2 miles. Turn right
onto US-5 North. Continue straight onto Union St. for .5 miles, the Armory will be on the right.
