NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed bids will be received until 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024, by the Purchasing Department in
the Lorain County Board of Commissioners Public Hearing Room D on the 4th floor at 226 Middle
Avenue, Elyria, Ohio for the furnishing of all labor, material and equipment for the PROPOSED
LORAIN COUNTY DOG KENNEL ADDITION, using various materials in accordance with
specifications prepared by Fabo Architecture, Inc. All interested parties are welcome to attend the bid
opening to be held immediately thereafter. The estimated cost of all work for this project is
$1,510,000.00.
A mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at the site, 301
Hadaway Street, Elyria, OH 44035.
All contractors involved with this project will to the extent practicable, use Ohio products,
materials, services and labor in the implementation of this project. Bidders shall submit a list of
equipment available and all labor shall be paid not less than the prevailing wage rate as determined by
the Ohio Department of Commerce, Wage and Hour Division.
Bidders may obtain official bid documents, plans and specifications at the office of the Lorain
County Purchasing Dept, 226 Middle Ave, Elyria, Ohio between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 4:30 P.M.,
Monday through Friday. Only bids prepared on the official bid documents obtained from the County will
be accepted. A $10.00 non-refundable deposit is required for each set of bid documents. Electronic
copies of the bid documents can be obtained free of charge by e-mailing Jessica Burns, Purchasing
Coordinator at jburns@loraincounty.us. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty and Contract
Bond in accordance with Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code. Bid security furnished in Bond form,
shall be issued by a Surety Company or Corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety.
Each proposal shall contain the full name or names of persons and bidders who submit the proposal and
shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope marked PROPOSED LORAIN COUNTY DOG KENNEL
ADDITION.
The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any
informalities or irregularities if it is deemed in the best interest of Lorain County to do so. Any
interpretation, correction, or modification to the specifications desired shall be submitted in writing to
the Lorain County Administrator, 226 Middle Avenue, Elyria, Ohio 44035, and must be received at least
seven (7) days prior to the date of the bid opening.
