Description:
The City of Lewiston, hereinafter referred to as the Awarding Authority or the City, hereby invites sealed bids for the Lewiston Fire Sub-station project in accordance with plans and specifications prepared by its architect for this project, Context Architecture (the “Architect” or “Context”, and the documents contained within this request for proposal (“RFP”). Bids shall be on a Proposal Form contained within this RFP, and signed by the bidder. Bidding procedures shall be in accordance with the City of Lewiston Purchasing Division and the provisions of the contract documents entitled: LEWISTON FIRE SUBSTATION.

SCOPE OF WORK includes all aspects of General Contracting work and as outlined in all RFP documents.

No Proposal will be considered unless it is accompanied by a bid security in the form of a bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, made out in favor of the City of Lewiston. All bid securities will be released upon execution by both parties of the A101/A201 (the “Contract”) or, if no Contract award is made, within thirty (30) days after the opening of the Proposals, unless forfeited as herein stipulated.

A Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, preferably executed on AIA Bond Form Number A311, in an amount equal to the total contract price, of a surety company satisfactory to the Purchasing Agent, will be required of the successful bidder.

The Contractor shall furnish proof of coverage with adequate insurance of the types and to the limits specified in the bid specifications naming the City of Lewiston as additional insured. Certificate of such insurance shall be filed with the Purchasing Agent for his/her approval before permission to commence work will be granted.
