Notice is hereby given that the City of Kent, Washington, will receive sealed bids at the City Clerks office through Tuesday April 18, 2017, up to 11:30 a.m. as shown on the clock on the east wall of the City Clerks Office on the first floor of City Hall, 220 4th Avenue South, Kent, Washington 98032. All bids must be properly marked and sealed in accordance with this Invitation to Bid. Bids must be delivered and received at the City Clerks office by the above-stated time, regardless of delivery method, including U.S. Mail. All bids will be opened and read publicly aloud immediately following for the City of Kent project named as follows:KENT MEMORIAL PARK
PLAYGROUND RENOVATION AND WIFFLE BALLFIELD BID DOCUMENTS
The project consists of renovating a play area (but not installing play equipment), constructing a synthetic turf Wiffle ballfield, installing decorative concrete paving work, installing an irrigation system, and other related work as required and as indicated in the project manual and on the drawings.
The Engineers estimated range for this project is $276,000 to $327,000. Bid documents may be obtained at www.kentwa.gov/procurement.
Bids must be clearly marked Bid with the name of the project on the outside of the envelope, addressed to the City Clerk, 220 4th Avenue South, Kent, WA 98032-5895. Only sealed bids will be accepted. No facsimiles or electronic submittals will be considered.
A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held Tuesday April 11, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. on site.
All pre-bid questions and clarifications should be made in writing to Brian Bishop at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 2 working days prior to bid opening. The subject line of the email must read PREBID QUESTION and reference the name of the Project. Answers to questions will be presented to all recipients of bid packages no later than 24 hours before bids are due.
The City of Kent reserves the right to reject any and all bids on any or all schedules or alternated or to waive any informalities in the bidding and shall determine which bid or bidders is the most responsive, satisfactory, and responsible bidder and shall be the sole judge thereof.
No pleas of mistake in the bid shall be available to the bidder for the recovery of his/her deposit or as a defense to any action based upon the neglect or refusal to execute a contract.
Bidders must submit with their initial bid a signed statement as to whether they have previously performed work subject to the Presidents Executive Order No. 11246.
No bidder may withdraw his/her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the day of bid opening.
