Scope of Work:
Complete a multibeam hydrographic survey of the Skagit County ferry terminals, located near Anacortes
Washington. The areas to be surveyed are approximately 0.9 acres at the Anacortes terminal and 0.4
acres at the Guemes terminal, shown in the attached Exhibit “A”. The ferry operates seven days a week,
running approximately two round trips per hour. The schedule can be found
here: https://www.skagitcounty.net/Departments/PublicWorksFerry/ferry.htm. The survey will need to
occur around the ferry’s schedule and avoid delays to the ferry operations. The contractor must use a
certified hydrographer and a PLS (professional land surveyor) with a Washington State stamp to conduct
the work.
The horizontal basis of the survey will be Washington State Plane Coordinates, North Zone, expressed in
US Survey feet and referenced to a documented land based survey control point with Real Time
Kinematic GPS. The vertical datum will be on MLLW (mean lower low water) as determined from NOAA
tidal benchmarks and the NGS correction algorithm. Tie in the bathymetry with known monumentation
and confirm structure (wingwalls, apron, etc.) locations relative to bathymetric survey. Skagit County will
provide the selected Consultant the existing survey drawings for examination and planning use. All data
shall be processed and corrected to remove errant values and biological growth.
A detailed AutoCAD file at a scale of 1” = 20’ using APWA (American Public Works Association)
