A Mandatory Pre-Bid was held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 12, 2019, in the City Hall Council Chambers,
201 Howell Avenue, Brooksville, FL for the DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS – PW2019-
Dale Ravencraft, Pro-Civil/Engineering of Record; Richard Radacky, Public Works Director; Jon Dowler,
Public Works Project Manager; Joe Nelson, Public Works Street Supervisor; Kathy Oliveira, Finance
Department and Jennifer J. Battista, City Clerk.

The City Clerk advised that this bid was advertised in the Tampa Bay Times and Hernando Sun on April 5,
2019 and posted on the City’s website and on DemandStar on April 5, 2019. The last day for questions in
writing to the City Clerk is April 26, 2019. The bid opening is May 3, 2019 at 3:00 p.m.
Mr. Ravencraft explained this bid, which was first bid in 2018 but has been modified now to eliminate the
bridges. The bridges will be bid out in another phase. He noted the importance for the bidders to be
aware of the utility coordination and adjustments referred to in the bid documents and advised that the
fees should be adjusted accordingly.
Director of Public Works Radacky advised that he would like to see this project completed before schools
resume in August, 2019, acknowledging the fact that it will soon be the rainy season.
Mr. Ravencraft pointed out that an addendum would be issued to correct the “50 SF” to “500 SF” in the
Minimum Techs and in the Special instructions as follows:
“An Additive Alternate Bid Item is included for the stabilization of the Channel 1 south
embankment through the pressurized injection of hydrophobic polyurethane resin (up to 50 SF 500 SF of
embankment area).”
The initial portion of the pre-bid concluded at 10:15 p.m. with a site visit held immediately thereafter.
Attendees and staff were advised by the City Clerk that any substantive questions arising from the site
visit should be submitted to the City Clerk in writing to determine if an addendum is necessary.
