Jefferson Lab (JLab) has posted the solicitation for the
Horizontal Electro-Polish (HEP) Machine on our Solicitation Bulletin Board - http://www1.jlab.org/ul/Bus_ops/ . All documents listed on the RFP form PD-6 can be viewed and downloaded from JLab's solicitation bulletin board.

? Jefferson Lab (JLab) will procure a Horizontal Electro-polish (HEP) Machine/ (referred to as "HEP Machine" or "Machine" from this point forward) to be installed and operated within its acid chemistry room in the SRF Cavity Processing Facility. The HEP Machine will be used to etch the interior surfaces of superconducting radio frequency (SRF) cavities. The HEP Machine will use concentrated acid as its electrolyte for DC current to perform electrolysis on rotating niobium cavities. The process completes by flushing and rinsing the cavities with ultrapure water. This system will be flexible to accommodate many sizes and shapes of cavities. See all attached documents for full detail and solicitation response expectations.

? Please note this is a "redo" of solicitation JSA-16-R356928 that was released on 6 Oct 2016. We had originally put that solicitation on hold with the intent to ask for best and final offers when it was released from hold. However, due to extended hold time and a few tweaks to the specification it was deemed to be in the best interest of all parties to start with a new solicitation. Therefore, RFP-16-R356928 is officially cancelled. We appreciate the time and effort vendors take to submit proposals to our RFPs, therefore, to make it easier on vendors who responded to the original RFP, in addition to the PDF file of the updated specification we have posted a word document with track changes and notes showing the differences between the original and new specification. There is also a change summary on page two of the new specification.

? If you are interested in submitting a proposal in response to this solicitation, be sure to register for this specific solicitation on the above website and let me know by a return email. Any amendments or other information associated with the requirement will be posted on the Solicitation Bulletin Board, and by registering you will be automatically notified when postings occur.

? Please reference Solicitation NO. JSA-17-R370923 on all communication to JLab related to this solicitation.

Please note the following dates:

? Questions regarding the solicitation must be submitted in writing to me not later than 4:30 PM (Eastern Standard Time ) on 27 Oct 2017 .

? Proposals are due no later than 2:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time) on 10 Nov 2017 . Please note that this is a Best Value bid package and award on initial offers can be made. Therefore, any issues or questions should be resolved prior to submission of bids. We anticipate making a firm fixed price award as early in December 2018 as possible.
