The following items were discussed during the pre-bid conference or questions were submitted after the completion of the conference:
Will space be blocked off around the facility for the Contractor’s vehicles, equipment, and supplies?
Yes, adequate parking space and storage space will be provided for the awarded Contractor. Roofing supplies shall not be delivered to the site prior to the date of installation per Item 1 of Section D. General Conditions.
Item 14 under Section D, General Conditions states “Contractor shall be responsible for all licenses, permits, and inspections (during and final) required of any regulatory agency having jurisdiction over this project.” Will the County waive the permit and inspection fees associated with this project?
Yes, the County will waive those fees.
Will there be any issue with working outside the normal 8:00am-5:00pm work hours? Will the security gate be opened after hours to allow us access?
As indicated in Item 4 under Section D, General Conditions, “Contractor may work between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm, seven (7) days a week, if they so desire.” Contractor may coordinate with Construction Management to ensure the security gate is unlocked and open if Contractor wishes to work outside standard work hours. The County will not pay overtime rates for work performed outside of normal 8:00pm-5:00pm hours if the Contractor elects to work extended hours. When Contractor is working while Fire personnel or civilians are present during the active open hours, Contractor must pay strict attention to Item 6. “Contractor will provide safety measures such as fencing, roping, signs, etc., that are required to insure visitor’s safety during this project.”
Has the preferred color(s) been determined for the roof, gutters, and downspouts?
Not at the present time. Color selection will occur after the County reviews the color options presented per Section D. General Conditions, Item 8. “Contractor shall provide a list of color selections available for roof panels, trim, and gutters.”
It is the Contractor’s professional opinion that smooth standing seam roof panels of this length will develop a wavy ‘oil canning’ appearance over time that could be minimized or eliminated by utilizing striated panels. Would the County accept proposals utilizing striated panels?
The County appreciates receiving this professional advice and would accept proposals where striated panels are utilized. That change must be noted in Section K. “Exceptions to or Variations from Specifications” in the Contractor’s submitted proposal.
Will this project involve the replacement of insulation or the soffits?
No, replacement of insulation or soffits is not part of the requested services. If presently undetermined damage requires repairs to the soffits, Contractor must submit a quote to the County and receive a Change Order and updated PO prior to proceeding with the repairs.
Presently there is no sidewall flashing where the roof & gutters meet the stucco sidewall. Does the County want flashing installed in those locations?
Yes, sidewall flashing should be installed where the roof & gutters meet the stuck sidewall.
Section F. Warranties, on Page 6 of the bid document is modified as follows:
INSERT: “3. Contractor shall provide optional quotes for a Weathertightness Warranty for five (5), ten (10, and twenty (20) year periods. The quoted amount for the selected optional warranty period will be added to the quoted Item 1c. Bid Total for project award”
Section I. Bidder’s Response, on Page 7 of the bid document is modified to reflect the additional price options requested in Item 1, above. Contractor must utilize the attached revised Section I. document in your bid response.
All other terms and conditions remain the same.
