202301-Fiber Optic Connection from HPD to CRA to City Hall

The purpose of this Invitation to Bid is to establish a contract, by means of sealed Bids, for the installation of a new conduit from the corner of Washington Ave. and NE 2nd St. to the Auxiliary/ Mechanical building of the Homestead Police Department, along with a new conduit from the Southwest corner of NW 2nd St into the Community Redevelopment Agency. In addition, for the installation of two (2) fiber optic cables, one from I.T.S Telecomm Room at City Hall to the IT Datacenter/Telecomm Room at the Homestead Police Department, and an additional fiber cable from the I.T.S Telecomm Room at City Hall to the Community Redevelopment Agency, from a source of supply that will give prompt and efficient service.

Funding for this project has been made possible through a grant from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA). All procurement and contracting for these services shall follow state and federal regulations including 2 CFR, Part 200; 24 CFR Part 85; 24 CFR Part 570.489, 570.490, 570.502, 570.506, 570.508 & 570.509. Furthermore, among the other requirements contained in 2 CFR 200, Appendix II, all contracts made by a recipient or subrecipient in excess of $100,000 with respect to water, sewer, or broadband infrastructure project that involve employment of mechanics or laborers must include a provision of the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act, 40 U.S.C. 3702 and 3704, as supplemented by Department of Labor regulations (29 CFR Part 5).

The Project constitutes a public construction work to be competitively awarded pursuant to Section 255.20, Florida Statutes.
