Equipment Move for Life Technolgies Instruments

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price award to Life Technologies Corporation to prepare and move two instruments (Ion Torrent and Ion Chef) . The requirement is to move two Life Science instruments (Ion Torrent S5 and Chef) from room bldg. 18/4th floor/4-605 to 4-212 due to the loss of space by Division of Viral Hepatitis to CORVID. The instruments must be moved by Life Technologies technicians to prevent voiding of the warranty and to prevent damage to the instrument sensitive sensors. Once the instruments are moved, the company must perform installation qualification (IQ) and operational qualification (OQ) to show that the instrument still performs as expected. Thermo Fisher is the only company qualified to move and perform IQOQ on Life Technologies instruments. No other vendors can perform IQOQ on Life Technologies instruments. No other vendors are approved to move Ion Torrent instruments without voiding warranties.

This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). The North American Industry Classification System code for this procurement is 423490 Other Professinal Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesaler. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within fifteen (15) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
