Connecticut Hall Lighting Replacement – 2023
In accordance with Section 4a-57 of General Statutes of the State of Connecticut, sealed proposals for supplying
the following will be received by the Procurement Services Department, but in the interests of safety during this
time, bids will be received electronically not later than 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Bid package shall
be forwarded to the e-mail address procurement@southernct.edu. E-Mailed bids received after 2:00 PM will not be
accepted, with the University being the sole arbiter on the acceptance of a bid. The University shall not be held
responsible for errors in transmission or any situation which prevents a bid from being delivered electronically prior
to 2:00 PM. For proper identification, bidders are asked to note the bid number and project name on the subject
line of the e-mail. Bid results will be posted on the DAS portal as soon as practicable. See the Instructions to
Bidders for more information.
The Project Description:
The scope of this project includes the removal and replacement of existing incandescent pendant mounted
light fixtures within the Connecticut Dining Hall with LED pendant lights.
Existing lighting branch circuits shall be traced and documented. Existing branch circuits shall be
consolidated, modified and/or extended to accommodate new lighting fixtures.
New lighting controls shall consist of a lighting contactor with a time clock and override switching for new
lighting zones.
In accordance with C.G.S. 46a-68c, the successful qualified low bidder on this project shall submit an Affirmative
Action Plan if the value of the project exceeds $50,000.00 or more. The plan must be filed within thirty (30) days
after a bid has been accepted by an awarding agency.
There will be a mandatory pre-bid conference on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 10:00 AM [Conference will be
closed at 10:05 AM with no exceptions] , at Connecticut Hall Front Lobby, 2 Wintergreen Avenue, New Haven.
Contractors not in attendance, and or who have not signed the attendance sheet at the mandatory pre bid meeting,
will not be allowed to submit a bid for this project. Immediately following the pre-bid conference, there will be a tour
of the project area.
The bid package and accompanying drawings are available on both the SCSU and DAS’s websites.
It is the vendor’s responsibility to check SCSU’S or DAS website for any addendums. This information can be

Bid Packages will be received electronically not later than 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Bids
shall be forwarded to the email address procurement@southernct.edu.
The right is reserved to reject any or all bids or to waive defects in same if it is deemed in the best interest of
Southern Connecticut State University.
