Nature of Work/Contract Title: Collision Reconstruction Training and Certification

Description of Work: The Contractor will conduct an eighty-hour training course in collision reconstruction for up to, but to not exceed, twenty-five (25) Minnesota State Patrol Troopers. The two-week course will be presented February 6-10, 2023, and February 13-17, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. daily. The training venue is the Minnesota State Patrol District 2800 Office, 7694 Industrial Park Road, Suite 2, Baxter, MN 56425. The course must provide attendees with the latest theories and methodologies of crash reconstruction and increase their knowledge of the principles of collision analysis. The class is intended to be more than a “refresher” class, presenting topics that may have previously received limited coverage as well as new ones. The class must review mathematical equations used in conjunction with crash data to interpret how a collision occurred with an emphasis placed on skid characteristics, spin analysis, critical speed yaw analysis, and friction. As part of the course, attendees will be required to complete in-class projects and a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary project designed to reinforce the class material. The course will ultimately assist and prepare attendees to testify in court at the expert level.
