NOTICE INVITING BIDS
Notice is hereby given that the City of Hermosa Beach will receive sealed bids at the Office of the
City Clerk, City Hall, 1315 Valley Drive, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254, until 3:00 P.M. on Monday,
May 14th, 2018, for CIP No. 17-416 SEWER IMPROVEMENTS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS –
PHASE 1 – HERMOSA AVENUE.
The project consists of trenchless rehabilitation of three sewer segments in Hermosa Avenue.
Two segments will be rehabilitated with cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner from manhole to
manhole, for a total of approximately 870-linear feet. One segment will be rehabilitated with a
CIPP liner point repair of approximately 6-linear feet. The Engineer’s estimate is $58,240. The
duration of the project is 28 working days.
All bids must be submitted in writing, on standard forms found in the Project’s Contract
Documents and Specifications book which can be obtained digitally by contacting the Project
Manager. All bids must be sealed and must be plainly marked in the lower left-hand corner

Each proposal must be accompanied by a cash deposit, a certified or cashier's check, or a
bidder's bond, made payable to the City of Hermosa Beach, in an amount not less than 10
percent of the total bid submitted.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a faithful performance bond in the amount of
100 percent of the contract price, and a payment bond in the amount of 100 percent of the
contract price, both in a form satisfactory to the City Attorney. The successful bidder will also be
required to pay the State of California prevailing wage scale as determined by the Department
of Industrial Relations, available at:
The Contractor must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations at the time of bid.

The contractor shall possess a valid State of California Contractors License Class A.
The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informality or irregularity in
any bid received and to be the sole judge of the merits of the respective bids received. The
award, if made, will be made to the lowest responsible bidder. Plans and Specifications will be
available for review at City Hall.
Plans and Specifications must be downloaded from the City’s website
(http://www.hermosabch.org/) under the “CITY DEPARTMENTS” tab, “City Clerk” subtab, “Bids
and Proposals”. All questions regarding this bid must be submitted in writing on or before 4:00
