ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids for a lump sum subcontract are invited from prequalified Electrical subcontractors (hereinafter
“Subcontractors”) for the following work:
UCLA CHS SOUTH TOWER POST-OCCUPANCY IMPROVEMENTS (FLOORS 2-7) PHASE 2

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
Renovation of four (4) lab modules in the CHS South Tower, located on floors two, five and seven
and consisting of approximately 10,000 GSF total area.
The lab modules will provide lab support space including tissue culture rooms, procedure rooms,
microscopy rooms, equipment rooms, computational laboratories and related lab support. The
project will also relocate existing laboratory equipment, and procure and install new laboratory
equipment.
The scope of work includes the procurement and installation of new laboratory equipment;
coordination of existing lab equipment; assembly of demountable partitions by others;
modifications to MEP and other building systems including fire protection and building
automation; construction of new room partitions; provision of utility connections and data drops to
support the program; and repairs and restoration of finishes impacted by the work.
The University has bid and awarded a CM at Risk Contract to Rudolph and Sletten, Inc.
(LICENSE #198069) (hereafter "CM/Contractor"). CM/Contractor is responsible for bidding and
awarding all subsequent subcontractor packages, including this package. The successful
Subcontractor Bidder shall sign a Subcontract Agreement directly with CM/Contractor, and shall
be bound by all the terms of the contract between University and CM/Contractor. Refer to
Appendix D R&S / University Prime Contract Documents which contains the contract between
University and CM/Contractor, attached to the subcontract bidding documents and incorporated
by this reference.
Bid Package 11 Electrical and Fire Alarm Systems (this contract): This Bid Package consists of
electrical systems and controlling devices.

MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE AND JOB WALK: A mandatory Pre-Bid Conference and Job
Walk will be conducted on 11/22/19 beginning promptly at 8:00 a.m. and on 11/25/19 beginning
promptly at 11:00 a.m. Only Subcontractor bidders who participate in at least one of the
Conferences in its entirety will be allowed to bid on the Project. Please note that parking for the
job walk is your responsibility and will not be provided. Participants shall meet at 300 Stein Plaza
Driveway, Los Angeles, CA 90024 (Westwood Plaza Entrance). For further information, contact

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California
current and active contractors license at the time of submission of the Bid:

Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business

No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the
performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations
pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1.
This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial
Relations.

including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $13 per hour as of 10/1/15,

state and local working condition requirements.
