ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed bids for BRASWELL MOUNTAIN CONTROL VALVE, to be constructed for PAULDING COUNTY
WATER SYSTEM will be received at the office of the PAULDING COUNTY PURCHASING
DEPARTMENT and addressed to 240 Constitution Blvd. Dallas, GA 30132, until 10AM on Thursday,
January 19, 2023 at which time the bids shall be publicly opened and read aloud.
The Project consists of the scope of services includes using a modulating valve for the control of Braswell
Mountain tank to allow for the decommissioning of the Braswell Mountain Pump Station. Garver
performed modeling in the Spring of 2022 that showed this connection and operational strategy would
increase flow provided by the Richland Creek WTP and reduce pressure swings in the system. This
addition will effectively fill and drain the tank by closing and opening a control valve. To achieve these
goals Garver purposes to include the following services:
Bids will be received for a single prime contract. Bids shall be on a lump sum and unit price basis, with
additive alternate bid items as indicated in the Bid Form.
Bidding Documents are available for review and purchase by prospective Bidders at the Paulding
County Finance Office, 240 Constitution Blvd, Dallas, Georgia 30132. Electronic bidding
documents may be obtained upon payment of $75, non-refundable (check payable to Paulding
County Board of Commissioners).
Bids shall be accompanied by a cashier’s or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount of
five percent (5%) of the total maximum bid price payable without recourse to the Owner, or a bid bond in
the same amount from a reliable surety company, as a guarantee that the Bidder will enter into a contract
and execute performance and payment bonds within fifteen (15) days after notice of award of Contract to
him. Such bid guarantee shall be made payable to PAULDING COUNTY WATER SYSTEM.
The successful bidder must furnish a performance, payment, and maintenance bond upon the form
provided in the amount of one hundred per cent (100%) of the contract price from an approved surety
company holding a permit from the State of Georgia to act as surety, or other surety or sureties
acceptable to the Owner.
Bids must remain in effect for 60 days after the bid opening date. Within 60 days from the bid date, the
Owner may award the contract to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder or reject any or all bids for
the project.
The PAULDING COUNTY WATER SYSTEM reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive
irregularities in the bids and bidding deemed to be in the best interests of the PAULDING COUNTY
WATER SYSTEM, and to reject nonconforming, nonresponsive, or conditional bids.
