Notice is hereby given that Washington County Public Schools will accept sealed bids for the purpose of establishing a contract to replace the roof system at Boonsboro Elementary School, 5 Campus Ave, Boonsboro, Maryland 21713. Pricing is being requested using Maryland Prevailing Wage Rates. Minority Business Enterprise participation procedures are applicable to the bid and construction project.

GENERAL/BIDDER QUESTIONS
1.1 Q: Can the amount of work days be increased?
A: Work can begin on June 14, 2019. The Substantial Completion date is August 23, 2019. The Final
Completion date is September 20, 2019.
The Contractor is responsible to obtain the Certificate of Occupancy from the Washington County Division of
Engineering & Construction Management on or before the Substantial Completion date. No roof tear-off
activities will be allowed after the Substantial Completion Date.
All field work and punch list items must be complete by the Final Completion Date. Metal work and other
work that is not disruptive to the school day may be performed during the period between Substantial
Completion and Final Completion.
Bidders are expected to staff the project accordingly.
SPECIFICATIONS
1.2 SECTION 01 01 00 SUMMARY of WORK, Article 1.05.C - REVISE as follows:
A. DELETE subparagraph 18 and REPLACE as follows:
Remove four (4) existing windows on east side of Gymnasium. Infill with new CMU and 2” polyiso cavity
wall insulation. Provide metal furring for new metal wall panels. Paint interior CMU to match adjacent
surfaces. Protect Gymnasium floor with plywood during work.”
B. Subparagraph 20 - DELETE the words “east and”.
1.3 SECTION 01 50 00 CONSTRUCTION FACILITIES AND TEMPORARY CONTROLS, Article 1.04 - ADD the following
sentence to Paragraph D:
“Provide minimum 3/4” plywood sheathing and tarps to protect the gymnasium floor.”
1.4 SECTION 04 90 00 MASONRY RESTORATION AND CLEANING, Article 1.01 - REVISE as follows:
A. REVISE Paragraph A to read “… amount of 20% of wall area above the roof deck and 50% of the
chimney area.”
B. REVISE Paragraph E to read “… Infill openings with polyiso insulation and 8” CMU…”

factory painted with 70% Kynar 500 & Hylar 5000 fluoropolymer coating.

b. Corrugation profile: Flush, each 7/8 inches deep.
c. Color: As selected by Owner from manufacturer’s standard colors

C. Article 2.2., Paragraph C; DELETE subparagraph 5 in its entirety.
1.6 SECTION 07 54 10 - THERMOPLASTIC MEMBRANE ROOFING, Article 2.2, Paragraph A; ADD the following
subparagraph:
“3. Use of self-adhered sheet is permitted.”
1.7 SECTION 07 90 00 JOINT SEALERS; DELETE this section in its entirety and REPLACE with Revised Section
07 90 00, dated March 19, 2019 and attached to this addendum.
DRAWINGS
1.8 DRAWING A1.1 ROOF PLAN; REVISE as follows:
A. Detail 4/A1.1 - ADD the following Note: “Existing railing is embedded into the CMU wall below.
Existing railing shall remain in place. Provide a clamp on rail to the top of the existing pipe rail to meet
height requirement due to new insulation heights.”
B. Detail 1/A1.1; REVISE to read “At all RTU units indicate Detail “22A’ in lieu of 22.”
C. Indicate the following deck type as Noted:
Area A, H, N, Q, X Gypsum Concrete
