SPECIFICATIONS
WORK TO BE DONE
This contract includes, but is not limited to, the supplying of all labor, material, equipment and supervision necessary or
required to remove and replace ten (10) gymnasium windows as described in these specifications, apparent from visit to
site or reasonably inferred from either.
WORK SITE
Danbury War Memorial

VISIT TO SITE
The contractor shall visit the work site, take all measurements, note all conditions, and fully acquaint himself with the
conditions relating to construction and labor so that he may fully understand the facility, difficulty and restrictions attending
the execution of the work under this contract.
The contractor shall thoroughly examine and be familiar with the specifications. The failure or omission of the contractor
to receive or examine any form, instrument or addendum, or other document, or to visit the site and acquaint himself with
conditions there existing, shall in no way relieve him from any obligation with respect to this contract, and shall not entitle
him to any extra compensation.

GENERAL
This contract shall include the following:
Remove and dispose of the ten (10) existing gymnasium windows
Furnish and install ten (10) Kalwall translucent panel system units complete per attached specifications for 2 ¾” Insulated
Translucent Fiberglass Sandwich Panel Unit Wall System (indicated as Section 08 45 23, pages 6 - 11).
PERMITS
The contractor shall obtain and file all necessary and required permits, notifications, etc. There is no City of Danbury
permit fee required.
RUBBISH AND DEBRIS
The contractor shall remove from site and legally dispose of all removed materials, debris, etc. and clean the affected
area as work progresses and upon completion of project.

GENERAL (cont’d)
PROTECTION AND DAMAGE
The contractor shall, at all times, properly protect City structures, equipment, grounds, employees from harm and
damage by providing sufficient barricades, signs, etc.
COMPLETE JOB INTENDED
The contractor shall provide a complete job in all respects. Any work not specifically mentioned in the specifications, but
obviously required for a complete and workmanlike job shall be deemed to have been included at no additional cost to the
City.
ENVIRONMENTAL
HYGENIX. Inc. was hired to perform an environmental inspection – a copy of their report can be found at the end of this
bid package, pages 20 – 23.
The contractor who is selected to perform this State project must comply with CONN. GEN. STAT. §§ 4a60, 4a-60a, 4a-
60g, and 46a-68b through 46a-68f, inclusive, as amended by June 2015 Special Session Public Act 15-5.
State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract for award to
subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services (“DAS”) under the
provisions of CONN. GEN. STAT. § 4a-60g. (25% of the work with DAS certified Small and Minority owned businesses
and 25% of that work with DAS certified Minority, Women and/or Disabled owned businesses.) The contractor must
demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals.
For municipal public works contracts and quasi-public agency projects, the contractor must file a written or electronic non-
discrimination certification with the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.
