It is the intent of this Invitation to Bid (ITB) to procure a contract for Asbestos Testing and Abatement/Remediation for Blount County, TN Government and Schools (hereinafter referred to as "Blount County") for the term of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025, with four optional one-year renewals. We are requesting a supplier who will be providing both the testing and the abatement.


The Bid Invitation and all Bid Attachments may be obtained through Blount County's online bidding system at https://blounttn.ionwave.net/login.aspx. If not currently registered with Blount County, v endors are encouraged to register under the Supplier Registration tab and submit their response through the online bidding system at this same link. Manual (hard copy) bid responses are acceptable.



If submitting a hard copy bid response, it shall be submitted to Blount County Purchasing, 385 Court St., Blount County Courthouse Room 319, Maryville, TN 37804. Bid respo nses, whether electronic or manual (hard copy) submissions, must contain all required information and documentation including, but not limited to, Response Attachments, Bid Attributes, and Bid Lines and be submitted no later than the Response Deadline. Bid responses are not accepted via email or facsimile. Bidders must allow ample time to submit their response. The system does not allow entries beyond the Response Deadline Date / Time.


To download or print a hard copy of the online bid for this project, go to our IonWave site and click on "Current Bids" (without registering or logging in). The bid download is located under the “Bid Documents” header at the blue “Bid Invitation” link, for Bidders who choose to submit a manual bid. This document will include blue "Download" links to all bid attachments. All required attachments must be completed and submitted, all response requirements must be included in the manual bid, and all attributes, and bid forms/line items must be completed. The public bid opening will be held at the response submittal deadline at Blount County Purchasing, 385 Court St., Blount County Courthouse Room 319, Maryville, TN 37804, and attendance is optional. Does Line Item One include reporting?
Answer Yes, Line Item One "Asbestos testing cost per sample" should be an all-inclusive price for the testing/sample to taken and then a written analysis provided to the requesting Blount County department. If you need to send this sample away to a lab for testing, this Line Item price should include that cost.

Can I submit a bid for just the testing portion?
Answer Please only submit bids for the entire scope of work. Our goal is to award to one supplier who will complete asbestos testing and also complete the abatement/remediation, if needed.
