4.1
Intent
This work consists of furnishing liner material and installing the cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) liner
system to line the interior of the host pipe to be rehabilitated. When installed, cured, and complete,
the liner extends the length of the host pipe in a continuous tight-fitting manner. This contract
includes all ODOT Districts.
Multiple Award
ODOT will accept all responsive bids submitted on or before the specified bid opening date and
make an award to all responsive bidders pursuant to O.R.C. 5513.02.
Purchasing Off Contract Activity
ODOT reserves the right to utilize its direct purchasing authority and purchase from other sources
off contract when responsive bidders are unable to meet the requirements of this contract.
Additionally, the Department may choose to issue out to bid a construction contract for any
services covered under this contract.
Contract Duration
The effective duration of this agreement shall be from the Date of Award through 12/31/19
Materials
Furnish materials conforming to ASTM D 5813 (Standard Specifications for Cured-In-Place
Thermosetting Resin Sewer Piping Systems)
Unless otherwise agreed upon prior to the start of a project, Materials provided shall be in
accordance with the following, but not limited to, current approved Ohio Department of
Transportation (ODOT) Specifications:

Safety Data Sheets
Technical Specifications and Material Safety Data Sheets will be submitted with bid and each
project.
4.2 Project Requirements
Submit to the Engineer certified test data and a letter of certification from the manufacturer that
states the material conforms to the specification requirements.
Submit the detailed liner installation procedures to the Engineer for acceptance at least ten days
before beginning work including the following information:
1. All calculations performed and stamped by a registered professional engineer.

Design the CIPP liner system according to ASTM F1216 as a fully deteriorated gravity
pipe. (Provide a load rating analysis if required per the Bridge Design Manual Section 900
to the District Bridge Engineer.)
Use the following AASHTO HL-93 live loads for calculations:

Allow at least ten working days for review. Do not begin work until the submittals have been
accepted by the Engineer. Any changes or deviations from the accepted submittals must be
resubmitted. The Engineer will not grant an extension of time because of incomplete submittals.
