RE: Item 0921010A “Score Frame…”: The spec states “where possible, use surface treatment which will
result in a slight color change between lines…” Please provide surface treatment clarification.
The color change to be achieved by a different surface finish treatments. For all
Concrete Sidewalk that are not imprinted or colored, use a broom finish where
striations are perpendicular to the building/curb and provide a smooth edge at a joint
(window pane). Between the two lines of the frame, provide a smooth surface finish to
contrast with the perpendicular broom finish striations. See SKC-4 attached.

The Contract Time listed in ITB #11 – Time Limit is for 120 calendar days. Assuming the start of
construction is April 1, 2021 the completion date will be July 29, 2021.

project will not be able to be installed within the designated contract time.
Please provide an additional contract period for installation of the plant materials.
The Contract must use the CT DOT Form 817, July 2019 supplemental specification, not the
Section 9.49.03 of this section says:

For purposes of this contract, Evergreen and shrub planting will be extended until June 15th as

recommend that plant material be chosen prior to the start of construction or, in the case of
annuals, not later than May 15th. to ensure a good supply of quality plant material.
If planting cannot be completed within the extended spring planting season, fall planting will be
allowed between September 15th and October 31th subject to the following:
Any soil disturbance must be top-dressed and reseeded.
Disturbance or damage caused to the newly installed sidewalks, curbs, utilities, private
property or any existing conditions will be the contractor’s responsibility to repair and
or replace to like-new conditions.
The date for final lawn establishment will be extended, and the contractor will be
responsible for ensuring full vegetative cover of all lawn areas prior to winter.
The final inspection for the start of the warranty period for all trees and shrubs will be
required after planting is complete. The planting and lawn inspection with the City will
determine if the planting is ready for final acceptance and start of the warranty period.
