Searching Tips

I. How to find bid opportunities that are related to your business

Step 1: Type in one keyword

Enter one keyword that describes your product or service well. (Try to enter a word that might frequently appear in a bid notice' title or body.)

Ex) To search for bids that contain 'janitorial' in a bid's title or body text, use:

Step 2. Add more keywords ("and" Search)

If a single keyword brings too many search results, enter one more keyword that describes about your business more specifically.

Ex) To search for bids that contain both 'janitorial' and 'service' in a bid's title or body text, use:

Step 3. Phrase Searches

Search for complete phrases by enclosing them in quotation marks. Words enclosed in double quotes will appear together in all results exactly as you have entered them. Phrase searches are especially useful when narrowing down search results.

Ex) To search for bids that exactly contain 'janitorial service' in a bid's title or body text, use: "Janitorial Service"

Step 4. Exclude a word ("-" search)

You can exclude a word from your search by putting a minus sign ("-") immediately in front of the term you want to avoid. (Be sure to include a space before the minus sign.)

Ex) To search for bids that contain both 'janitorial' and 'service' words in a bid's title or body text, but exclude bids that contain 'equipment', use:

II. Advanced Operators

1. 'OR' search

To retrieve search results that include either word A or word B, use a comma (,) between terms.

Ex) To search for bids that contain either 'construction service' and 'equipment' in a bid's title or body text, use:

2. Obtain results containing a keyword in the title only.

Ex) To search for bids that contain 'construction' in a bid's title only, use:

3. Obtain results containing ALL keywords in the title only.

Ex) To search for bids that contain 'construction building service' in a bid's title only, use:

4. No support on capital words and plural forms
