The APEX Accelerators program was formerly known as the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (opens in new window) (PTAP).
This project consists of the removal and replacement of failed retaining walls at one site on National Forest System Road 19S09 (Arroyo Seco) and one site on National Forest System Road 15N15 (Romero Camuesa), both on the Los Padres National Forest. The site on NFSR 19S09 is located approximately 27 miles (36 minutes) west of the Monterey District Ranger Station in King City, California, near the Arroyo Seco Campground. The site on NFSR 15N15 is located approximately 18 miles (50 minutes) north of Montecito, California, one mile west of the Divide Peak OHV staging area.
The required work includes the removal of a failed block wall on 19S09 and a failed crib wall on 15N15, structural excavation, the installation of Class 4 rip-rap, including rockfall netting, the installation of a combined 975 square feet of new mechanically stabilized earth wall, including geocomposite sheet drainage systems, roadway reconditioning, including an aggregate base surface course, and the installation of carsonite delineators. The contractor will also be required to survey and stake the new retaining walls, test imported materials in accordance with specifications, and institute soil erosion and pollution control measures in accordance with plans, specifications, and the contractor-submitted Soil Erosion Control Plan.
Magnitude of construction: Between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
A site visit will be held April 15, 2024 through April 16, 2024
