Description

Bowling Green Municipal Utilities will receive sealed bids for construction of the Water Treatment Plant Standby Power Project, Bowling Green, Kentucky. Said bids will be received at the offices of Bowling Green Municipal Utilities until 2:00 PM local time on June 27, 2008 at which time the bids will be opened and read publicly aloud. Late bids will be returned unopened.

The Work will generally consist of the following improvements, related appurtenances and other works as necessary to complete the Project as identified in the Contract Documents:

SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

A. Project consists of furnishing and installing the following major items of Work for the BGMU Water Treatment Plant standby power system:

-Demolition:Existing storage shed.
-Installation: Three (3) 1000KW, 4160V, outdoor standby diesel generators.
-Installation: One (1) 5KV paralleling switchgear in an outdoor walk-in enclosure.
-Installation: One (1) 3750KVA, 4160-12,470V step-up transformer.
-Installation: One (1) pole-mounted utility recloser.
-Installation: Auxiliary power for generators and switchgear.
-Installation: Concrete support structure for generators, transformer, and switchgear mentioned above.
-Modifications: Overhead 12,470V.
-Installation: Underground, above ground, indoor and outdoor conduit for low and medium voltage circuits.
-Modifications: Owner s existing SCADA system.
-Troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of all equipment.
-Restoration of pavement and other disturbed areas.

B. Project consists of the furnishing and installing the following major items of Work for the Warren County High Service Pump Station located on the BGMU Water Treatment Plant site:

-Installation: One (1) 500KW, 480V trailer-mounted portable generator.
-Installation: One (1) 480V, 1600A, service-rated outdoor transfer switch.
-Installation: Intercepting and extending existing concrete-encased 480V service entrance duct bank.
-Installation: Temporary power for the high service pump station during service entrance duct bank modifications.
-Installation: Concrete support structure for transfer switch.
-Installation: Concrete support structure for portable generator.
-Installation: Termination box for portable generator cords.
-Installation: Underground, above ground, indoor and outdoor conduit for low voltage circuits.
-Troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of all equipment.
-Restoration of pavement and other disturbed areas.

Bids will be accepted from registered plan holders obtaining the Contract Documents from the Issuing Office only. Contract Documents (including the Construction Plans, Specifications, and other Bidding Instruments) may be obtained beginning June 9, 2008 for a non-refundable fee of $200.00 at the Issuing Office location shown below:

Copies of reports of explorations and tests of subsurface conditions at or contiguous to the Site that the Engineer has reviewed or used in preparing the Contract Documents can also be purchased from the Issuing Office beginning June 9, 2008 for a non-refundable price of $20.00 for each copy (including shipping and handling). These reports are not a part of the Contract Documents and are made available to the BIDDER solely for BIDDER S review.

A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held June 17, 2008, 2:00 P.M. local time at the following location:

All bids must be received in sealed envelopes marked BID REPLY- WTP Standby Power Project" prior to bid opening. The envelope should bear on the outside the name of the BIDDER and his address. If forwarded by mail, the sealed envelope containing the BID must be enclosed in another envelope addressed to:

Bowling Green Municipal Utilities reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids or to accept the lowest bid or lowest evaluated bid. All bids shall be evaluated on the following criteria: Cost, Qualifications/Experience, Past Record with BGMU, References, Timeliness, Compliance with Bid Specifications, Quality of Materials, Financial Stability, and Compliance with Law.
