Description
Tenderfoot Creek Campground Reconstruction on the Seward Ranger District for the Chugach National Forest, AK. Work is planned to start in June 2008 and shall be completed by the end of the construction season. The magnitude of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The scope of work includes but is not limited to these items: The reconditioning of approximately 0.5 miles of existing single-lane campground loop roads to a 14 foot width. The construction of 5 new parking spaces. The realignment, reconstruction or construction of 35 existing or new camping spurs. The construction of 3 new picnic sites. The removal of the existing wheel stops and the furnishing and installation of new plastic wheel stops. The furnishing and installation of treated timber curbs along the edges of     new and reconstructed camp sites and picnic sites. The furnishing and installation of cedar wood posts at each parking spur. The removing and diposing of existing fire rings, and the furnishing and installation of new accessible fire rings for all camping spurs, walk-in sites, and picnic sites. The removing and disposing of picnic tables, and the furnishing and installation of new picnic tables for all camping spurs, walk-in sites, and picnic sites. The removing, obliteration, and disposal of existing dumpster screens. The removal and disposal of existing culverts. The furnishing and installation of culverts. The furnishing, hauling, spreading and compaction of six inches of crushed aggregate (grading D-1) on all roads, parking spurs,     and parking areas. The furnishing, hauling, spreading and compaction of 6 inches of crushed aggregate surfacing (grading F-1) on all camping spurs, walk-in sites, picnic sites, trails, and ramps. The furnishing and installation of 2 single vehicle gates. The construction and reconstruction of approximately 790 feet of new or existing trail.     The furnishing, hauling, spreading and compaction of crushed aggregate surfacing on the trails. The removal and disposal of existing vault toilet buildings including the concrete pads and vaults. The installation of water wells with associated concrete pads and pumps. The removal of signs and bulletin boards. The furnishing and installation of new traffic control signs and a bulletin board.The construction and reconstruction includes the following items of work, but is not limited to these items: clearing and grubbing; excavation and embankment; embankment construction; borrow excavation; obliteration of roads and parking spurs; hauling, placing and compaction of borrow excavation material; the hauling and disposal of clearing, grubbing and construction debris.
