Paint Two 50,000 Gallon Water Tanks at Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado. The Park is located in the San Luis Valley, 36 miles north east of Alamosa, Co., Alamosa and Saguache counties. Additional information on Great Sand Dunes may be accessed at www.nps.gov/grsa. The primary work of this contract consists of furnishing all materials, labor and equipment necessary for surface preparation, cleaning, and coating exposed exterior and interior surfaces of two 50,000 gallon welded steel potable water storage tanks. Work includes, but is not limited to, wall, roof framing, roof plates, columns, floor plates, interior piping, access man-ways, roof hatches and overflow pipes. The work includes providing, installing and coating replacement exterior ladders and safety cages. Existing tank coatings have small percentages of total lead content that are within industry standards for water tanks. The work includes verification of total lead content for existing coatings. A report is included in the solicitation of the testing done by the Government on the lead content of the existing paint. The contractor shall perform independent tests to determine the amount of lead present in the existing paint. All work will be completed in accordance with government furnished specifications, scope of work, drawings, and other attached documents. The solicitation and related documents will be available electronically at http://ideasec.nbc.gov, on or about 6 June 2008. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be issued. Telephone / FAX requests for this solicitation will not be accepted. Electronic submission of contractor proposals will not be accepted. This will be a best value procurement. Selection and award will be determined using a comparative evaluation of proposals based on price and past performance. The Government will not accept an offer for award on the basis of superior capability without concern for the price of the offer. In order to download the solicitation, interested vendors must register at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. It is mandatory that all respondents be registered in the Central Contractor Registration database (www.ccr.gov) prior to award. The anticipated award date is on or about June 16, 2008. Responses from offerors will be accepted at the address listed in the solicitation in hard copy until the due date and time specified in the Solicitation. All responses must be signed by an authorized company official. Responses should be mailed to Tammy Gallegos, National Park Service, P.O. Box 728, Santa Fe, NM, 87504-0728.
