Synopsis:

The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 1111 East End Blvd., requires installation of wall protection inside an active Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Under Project Number 693-08-142, the contractor will provide all necessary labor, material, tools, supervision, equipment, permits, testing and reports required for installation of wall protection inside the active ICU. The project includes installation of a new rigid vinyl wainscot with all accessory trim and caulk, new cove base, some corner and wall guard work, wall and door frame painting and other work items as required and directed by the Program Manager. Infection control procedures are of paramount concern. All work is to be performed in accordance with the plans and specifications and all federal, state and local codes and regulations.

All work shall be performed as described in construction documents consisting of the project specifications and project drawings, and in accordance with all applicable codes and VA standards. Estimated construction cost range is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Period of Performance will be 4 calendar days. All work on this project must be accomplished between 5pm Thursday and 12 noon on Monday. Set-Aside Information: This solicitation is to be issued as a 100% small business set aside. The firm must be small under relevant North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) code and the firm must be registered and current in the following websites: http://www.ccr.gov and https://orca.bpn.gov. Offerors must ensure registrations in these websites are not expired and are correct, current and valid. The Contracting Officer is not responsible for correcting information.

The NAICS code for this project is 238320 and the small business size standard is $13.0 Million. Bid Bonds, Payment Bonds, and Performance Bonds will be required. A pre-proposal conference and site visit will be held, date/time/location to be provided with the solicitation. The solicitation documents will be posted at the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fbo.gov) on or about April 25, 2008. Bidders are advised that it is your responsibility to review and monitor the website frequently to ensure you have the most up to date information, including amendments.
